About the conference
PETCORE EUROPE in partnership with the Circular Economy Coalition in Romania – CERC invites you to attend the event “Circular Economy Coalition bridges the PET value chain between Eastern, Central and Western Europe”.
This marks PETCORE’s first gathering in Bucharest, where we will be joined by PET packaging experts from across the entire PET value chain in Central and Eastern Europe.
The objective of this roadshow is to share the main activities carried on in Brussels to allow the PET business, both PET packaging and textile, to grow while implementing the Circular Economy and to define with the attendees the main priorities in the region.
Key Topics to be Addressed
1. Harmonization of Regulations and Standards – aligning EU regulations, standards, and certifications across the EU to ensure a seamless flow of recycled materials and to eliminate discrepancies that may hinder our common objectives.
2. Promotion of Knowledge, sharing Best Practices and work through recognized EU evaluation platforms – sharing knowledge on advanced recycling technologies and circular economy strategies to implement Design for Recycling (D4R).
3. Joint Scientific Studies and Innovation Projects – encouraging collaborative research and development projects improving PET recycling technologies, designing for recyclability, and creating new circular business models.
4. Data Sharing and Transparency – developing shared data platforms to track PET production, recycling rates, and material flows across the region, providing transparency and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Building collaboration within PETCORE EUROPE’s PET value chain across Central, Eastern and Western Europe requires a multi-faceted approach that includes regulatory alignment, deep technical expertise and infrastructure development. By focusing on these areas, PETCORE EUROPE and its members can move faster towards a truly circular economy and support all regions by benefiting from this collaboration.
