About the conference
Circular Economy Coalition – CERC in partnership with PORR, STRABAG and RAIFFEISEN BANK, organizes the International Conference “Building Circularity in Constructions – Circular Solutions in Construction & Built Environment”.
This is the first International Conference organized in Bucharest, which will bring together experts from the entire construction value chain in Central and Eastern Europe. The debates will address the trends and initiatives discussed in Brussels, with the aim of developing the construction industry sustainably, in line with the principles of the circular economy. At the same time, we want to jointly establish strategic priorities for this region.
Key Topics to be Addressed
1. Harmonization of European regulations and standards with national ones: Alignment of norms and standards at national level, according to EU regulations and practices, to ensure through separate collection and efficient sorting, a constant flow of C&D materials, destined for reuse and recycling.
2. Exchange of good practices and collaboration at European level: Transfer of best practices on advanced sorting technologies for reuse or recycling and circular economy strategies, including the implementation of Design for Reuse.
3. Scientific studies, innovative projects and examples of best practices: Promotion of research and development programs for the improvement of C&D recycling technologies and the creation of new circular business models (for reuse or recycling).
4. Transparency and data exchange: Development of common databases at national (European) level for monitoring C&D material flows that are reused and recycled, ensuring transparency and identifying opportunities for improvement.
